Tim & Ben Eriksen and Chris Crowley, have been brothers, friends and bandmates since middle school. The three were playing post-hardcore before the term existed, with influences in the punk, jazz, americana, and indie-rock camps that morphed into their own experimental world-punk fusion.
Tim Eriksen (guitars & vocals) is internationally known as one of the great living exponents of traditional American folksong and an innovative multi-instrumentalist (banjo, fiddle, guitar, fretless bajo sexto). His rich vocals and lush saturated, yet spastic guitars, above Chris Crowley’s melodic bass lines, backed by Ben Carey’s musically sensible rhythms and harmonies create their signature sound.
Reunited after a long hiatus while Tim forged his solo music career, this band picks up where they left off in 1985, writing music about things that are important but not very present in the music we hear without fitting neatly into any genre, but with confidence that their audience will follow their blurred lines and musical diversity.
They recorded one full length album comprised entirely of songs written during 1984: The First Things I Ever Did Was Cry, recorded in Chris’ bedroom with four microphones when Ben was 12, and released cassettes on the tiny underground label Unsound Music.
Their eagerly awaited follow up EP is due out Summer 2026
